Krasnokutsky arboretum in Kharkov

Krasnokutskiy arboretum is one of the oldest arboretum in Ukraine. Presumably, it was founded in 1793.
More than 300 species of exotic plants can be found in the Krasnokutskiy park. The highest plant has 46 meters, there are "dwarfs" with a height of less than a meter.
There is a special microclimate in the park: the area is protected by tall trees, which is why cultures brought from abroad have perfectly taken root.
Walking along the alleys, you can go down to the picturesque lakes. The island of Love is on the upper pond, planted with American weeping willows. The island is connected to the main path by an iron bridge. Previously, the bridge rose and the lovers remained alone.
Here you can walk all day, have a picnic with your family, on the way to stop at Sharovka and Natalia.
The cost of admission is free. During rainy hours, movement through the territory may be limited due to the fact that some slopes become very slippery.

How to get there:
Krasnokytskiy arboretum is in the village of Osnovintsy on the very outskirts of the village of Krasnokutsk.
From the Central market buses leave for Krasnokutsk. The journey takes 2.5-3 hours. From the bus stop you can walk.
By car you can drive along the Kiev highway for about 90 km. You can get through Bogodukhov on the way to Sumy, but this way is longer.
